Chic Reusable Bags
Baggu bags are colourful, stylish, practical, reusable bags made by a mother and daughter outfit in the US. Together they are working to replace paper & plastic bags with something that does the same job without creating needless waste or harming the environment. Using one Baggu for one year replaces 300 to 700 disposable bags. That helps reduce some of the 100 billion plastic bags sent to a landfill in the US last year.
“We made Baggu because we wanted a better reusable bag. Something neat & compact, stylish enough to take to work or to give as a gift, but really practical so you´ll actually use it for your grocery shopping. Whether you love electric purple or classic black, with a palate of over 40 colors Baggu blends in with anyone´s personal style.”
How It All Began…
Baggu was started in California by Joan and Emily (Joan is Emily´s mom). “After dozens of prototypes, we came up with a solution that makes using reusable bags stylish, practical and easy.”
“We wanted to design a reusable bag that would function for both of us. Em lives in the city, where she shops on foot. She needs to have a bag or two that fold up small so she always has them in her purse ready for an unexpected errand.”
Joan is a suburban “drives to the grocery store loads up her hybrid” grocery shopper. Their shared interest is in making something useful and beautiful.
Baggu bags consist of lightweight, hard working fabrics to make bags that will perform years of service in all of our daily toting tasks: groceries, pharmacy purchases, gifts, books, and clothes and … All the tons of things we find ourselves accepting a disposable bag to bring home.
Changing our own shopping habits is one small thing we can do to make a difference.
