See Green With Oakley Gascan´s

Bob Burnquist Signature Series Recycled GASCAN Sunglasses

Oakley´s are now protecting your eyes as well as the environment with their new range of sunglasses made from recycled materials.

Oakley skateboarder Bob Burnquist has long championed Green initiatives in environmental protection. To show support, Oakley is pleased to present this special edition Gascan® eyewear. The frame is made from excess materials that come from the manufacture of other eyewear. The eco-conscious design utilizes 100% bamboo for the icon accents, includes a storage bag made from 100% certified organic bamboo; asustainable natural fibre that is 100% biodegradable. T packaging is also constructed from recycled materials and printed with eco-friendly, soy-based inks.

A portion of the proceeds from sales of the Bob Burnquist Gascan® will go to the Action Sports Environmental Coalition (ASEC), an organization co-founded by Bob in 2001. With the help of athletes and companies, the organization takes a proactive approach to educate others about environmental responsibility. Oakley is honored to assist in these efforts.

“I am very excited to be part of the creation of this special eyewear piece,” said Bob Burnquist. “The way Oakley has bridged the gap between technical innovation and a more Green route is quite an achievement.”

We are proud Oakley and the direction they are taking with these new sunglasses, the first of what we hope will be numerous innovations created with Green initiatives in mind.

Oakley VP of Sports Marketing Pat McIlvain states, “Bob has long been a source of inspiration to Oakley brand leadership and he brings a wealth of knowledge to the design table. It’s very exciting to see Oakley take this approach with our environment in mind.”
