PETA Benefits from Pam Anderson´s New Eco-Fashion Line

Pamela Anderson’s new eco/animal-friendly clothing collection hasn’t even hit stores yet — and already the actress is using the buzz to help raise money for one of her favorite charities, PETA.

Called A*Muse, the new brand will be an animal-friendly, organic line, consisting of bathingsuits, designer printed t-shirts featuring images of Pamela Andersonand the designer himself – Richie Rich, including hoodies and zip ups, a full rangeof casual dresses, and beachwear.. It debuted to mostly mixed reviews during New Zealand fashion week — with critics calling it everything from “fun and playful” to “Borat-inspired“. Anderson and her partner designer Richie Rich are now embarking on a world-wide promotional tour to debut the range in major cities in North America, Europe and Asia.

Richie Rich has been defined by many as New York’s modern day Warhol. It seemed appropriate that Richie would incorporate the images of the muses that have inspired him over the years into his designs. Richie knew, from the beginning, that the first muse for this collection had to be his longtime friend, Pamela Anderson. “Pam has long been a source of inspiration to me, she has this amazing combination of the sweet girl next door but in the most glamorous of ways — I love her lust for life!” Richie describes the A*Muse collection inspired by Anderson as, “fun, sexy, surfer girl from Malibu meets Andy Warhol.”

Toronto and Miami are on the agenda for A*Muse premieres in the coming weeks — and both cities will feature charity dinners before the fashion show to benefit PETA. At the Toronto event, called Feed Your Soul, those who cough up the $100 ticket price will enjoy an all-vegan menu prepared by Chef Chris Zielinski. PETA chairman Dan Matthews will join Pam in hosting a similar dinner following the Miami A*Muse fashion show.
