Ascension launches MADE-BY / EDUN LIVE T-shirt

‘Fashion with Respect for People and the Planet’

To celebrate their 5-year anniversary, sustainable labeling pioneers, MADE-BY have joined forces with Bono & Ali Hewson’s eco fashion brand EDUN LIVE to launch a limited edition range of sustainable printed T-shirts. These will be available exclusively at Ascension during February.

A ‘RESPECT’ print adorns each T-shirt and is the result of a pan-European design competition to offer young, aspiring design talent a chance to create a sustainably themed T-shirt. The public voted for their favourite designs on the Made-By website and  the winner was chosen by a professional panel consisting of key industry figures, namely: Ali Hewson (Edun), actresses Bonnie Wright and Georgia Groome, US eco-model Summer Rayne Oakes, Claudia Straatmans (Cosmopolitan Magazine-Holland), Mark Huis in’ t Veld (MADE-BY) and de Bijenkorf (Dutch department store).

With the help of MADE-BY, EDUN LIVE is further progressing its African suppliers in Uganda and Tanzania to achieving better social and environmental standards. By teaming up for this project, both the environment and the communities benefit. Certified organic cotton is used which ensures that the farmers earn a better wage and improves their livelihoods.

€5.00 from each T-shirt sold will be donated to the Wildlife Conservation Society in support of the Conservation Cotton Initiative. This initiative helps African farmers shift to organic farming methods while protecting wildlife habitats.

The RESPECT T-shirt is available for both men and women in natural, khaki, pepper grey and watermelon pink for £27.00; exclusively at Ascension shops and ascensiononline.com during February.
