A Square Coke Can is a Green Coke Can

This packaging design by Andrew Seunghyun Kim for Coca Cola bottles is bold and something that Coca Cola should definitely consider doing. The new bottle design is 100% eco-friendly. It’s slick, futuristic and vastly different from Coca Cola’s packaging which would probably be the reason they wouldn’t pick this new eco design up.

The cap is 25% slimmer that the current 20oz bottles and 27% more eco-friendly as it greatly reduces the packaging´s carbon footprint. This design is 65% more collapsible than the current bottle encouraging more recycling due to ease in transport. Environmentally conscious people can easily collapse the bottle and carry it around until they find a recycling bin.

The design is imaginative and forward-thinking. The bottle looks futuristic, stylish and luxurious. Packaging is extremely important to any brand so this would be a giant step if Coca Cola even considered it. If Coca-Cola were to embark on this new design or any new green packaging ideas, they could capture even more loyal customers as they would be able to position themselves to a new, eco chic market.

What are your thoughts on this new packaging design…?
