Pamper with a purpose this Mother´s Day

Sunday 9 May is Mother’s Day, and this year finding just the right way to show your appreciation is as easy as paying a visit to your nearest Woolworths store.

As part of its Good business journey, Woolworths is committed to working with small enterprises and community-based organisations in order to help build sustainable, strong communities. For Mother’s Day Woolworths ‘gifts with a conscience‘ include colourful shweshwe bangles and beautiful Venda pots.

The pots are hand-crafted by the women of Mokodeni Pottery in Motsware, Limpopo, who make them from local river clay the same way their grandmothers and mothers did, using only their hands to shape and paint them. Each of these wonderful works of art is signed by the potter.

Woolworths shweshwe bangles are made by Wola Nani, a community project committed to improving the quality of life for people living with HIV and Aids. Each of these vibrant bangles comes with a chocolate-covered mallow heart.
