If you’re living in the northern suburbs of Jozi and find yourself yearning for good organic food but never have the time to shop for it, contact the Organic Emporium and register for their home delivery scheme. You can select the goodies you want online and come Friday morning, they’ll deliver them directly to your door. Happy shopping!

May 24th: The Greener Grocer

Pick ‘n Pay has always been easy on the budget but now it’s becoming easier on the planet too. The Morningside Shopping Mall Pick ‘n Pay, which recently opened its doors, is far from being yet another big retail franchise. This new branch prides itself on its commitment to sustainable development and is all about green integrity. Filling its shelves with the best green products available from Green Bean Coffee to Wonder bio-carbon charcoal briquettes, Morningside’s new PnP gets our green stamp of approval.  Not only are its products eco-friendly, but the store itself is designed in a way that reduces its energy footprint from using electronic ballasts in their lights, which are more energy efficient, to fitting their fridges with variable speed drives helping to stabilize the draw of energy and create more efficient usage. Swing by Morningside Mall to check it out!

May 25th: Make your Pet more Eco-Friendly

If you want to go green, don’t only change the food and health products you use, change your pet’s medicine cabinet too. The Herbal Pet store prides itself on stocking all natural pet supplements so if your furry friend is in need of some mootie whether it’s for allergies or arthritis, find a Herbal Pet store near you by going online to www.theherbalpet.co.za.

May 26th: Give your office a green makeover

Transform your workplace into an eco-friendly zone by buying your office supplies from Mason Complete Office Solutions which has launched a range of products created from recycled, FSC approved or environmentally friendly materials. Even more impressive, Mason collects and recycles printer cartridges donating all proceeds to the World Wildlife Fund.  So if your office is in need of a revamp or you’ve got a stash of printer cartridges to get rid of, call Mason’s on 021 530 4100 or visit www.mason-cos.co.za

May 27th: Green Clean

It’s time to ditch those old cleaning products and stock up on Better Earth’s range of household goods. Their Dishwashing machine gel is 100% biodegradable and has no artificial colourants or flavours, which makes it a great eco-friendly alternative to your traditional dishwashing liquid. For other green alternatives check out their website

May 28th: Get Water Wise

If you want to know exactly how much water you’re using every time you shower, invest in the Eco Showerdrop – a low-cost show meter that’ll tell you when the recommended amount of water has been dispensed and so help you to save precious H2O! This fab green gadget is available online from the Green Shop

May 29th: Cookware that Considers the Environment

Neoflam by Tevo is a fantastic range of non-stick cookware that’s main ingredient, Ecolon, creates a ceramic, natural non-stick coating that is 100% free from harmful chemicals. If you want to put the Neoflam range to the test then head to any Checkers, Pick ‘n Pay, Makro or Game stores and splurge on a few new pots and pans!

May 30th: Weleda Goes Digital
