Stella McCartney launches new "greener" website

Calling all eco fashionistas! Stella McCartney recently relaunched her website which features opportunities to shop, as well as look into the personal life of this vegetarian and animal friendly designer.

The site sells McCartney’s collections, which include accessories (love the leatherette big chain shopper), ready-to-wear, and lingerie (my favourite!). Users can also use the site to go beyond online shopping, and reserve an item for pickup at their nearest store. Or, if they aren’t able to buy, they can use social networking platforms, like Facebook and Twitter, to “Like” items or tag favorites within the site.

But in addition to browsing new styles, the website offers an inside look into McCartney’s personal life. Click on Stella’s World and you’ll find a Green Me section where McCartney shares Daily Green Tips, pieces of her environmental philosophies, and answers questions about the green production process of her designs. There’s also a Charity section which highlights a few of the organizations that McCartney collaborates with – PETA, Meat Free Monday, and (RED) to name a few.

The Stella McCartney fashion brand launched in 2001 and has continued to gain ground with eight stores around the world. And last July, McCartney was appointed to be creative director for the Adidas team in the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

This is a designer worth supporting and definitely gets liveeco´s eco chic approval. There is even a Stella McCartney iPad application rumored to be available soon.
