Green-thinking mobile phone users may be keen to own handsets produced by Nokia, as a result of the company´s eco-friendly approach to business. The Finnish brand has released its latest Sustainability Report for 2010, indicating that it once again meets the required standards.
According to the publication, Nokia finished top of the Dow Jones Sustainability Index for firms in its sector, while it also managed to achieve its climate targets.
“Sustainability is embedded in everything we do at Nokia, from the way we operate to the way we design products to the way we deliver services,” confirmed Stephen Elop, chief executive of the company.
Another of the brand´s achievements in 2010 was to be the first organisation to use a number of sustainable materials in its production process. Nokia recently confirmed the launch of the N9 device, which could become a hit with consumers thanks to its innovative, slim design.
