Goth meets Eco Fashion

From dabbling in duct tape dresses to dog costumes, Rachael Reichert has already had a diverse career in fashion. But it´s her most recent venture that caught our eye: it´s an eponymous line of goth meets girly eco-fashion in two classic colors: black and white.

A graduate of Central Saint Martins in London, UK, Reichert makes her one-of-a-kind womenswear by hand in her studio in Ithaca, New York, using organic cotton, hemp silk and vintage and reclaimed fabrics and trims.

From her Black and White collection of 2010, Rachael Reichert transforms classic silhouettes into gothic, black and white creations using sustainable materials, including lace that Reichert hand made using the left over threads at the end of each machine stitch.

Reichert also has a collection of choker necklaces that are made with “found objects from across the world,” according to her Etsy shop, including chains, watches, rings, and jewels.

And to top off the look, Reichert has a black and red bolero with tails, made with organic cotton sateen, and hemp silk satin featured on her Etsy shop. It´s versatile, too, and has a removable red strap with black buttons, which were found in her grandmother´s button jar.
