This past Saturday was the Avant Garde 2011 finale runway show at The Green Expo at the CTICC.
Our 13 DAF students had their upcycled garments paraded to an enormous crowd, at lunch time at the expo. Seated in the front row was Jackie Burger, editor of ELLE SA and judge of the competition. Expresso were also there to interview the students and our winner. And now to announce the winner to those of you who were unable to attend the show… Congratulations to Thandi Pritchard – our Avant Garde winner for 2011! Thandi walked away with a Citizen Eco-Drive watch as well as a hamper and voucher from The Body Shop to the value of R2 500.
A big thanks again to our sponsors: Pick n Pay; The Body Shop and Citizen Eco-Drive for the main prize as well as to the The Green Expo organisers for providing the location.
