Last week the Avant Garde object Top 15 finalists were put through their paces at the final judging session held at SDR studio.
The judging panel consisting of: Andre Nel {Pick n Pay}; Yolande Mitton {Design Time}; Steven Harris {Furnspace}; Katie Thompson {Recreate}; Sabrina Schenck {vida e caffè} and myself were impressed with this year’s talent and some of the students enthusiasm towards the project. The most talked about object was Camille Guibert’s pot plant holder made from upcycled cigarette butt’s – even the eXpresso camera man couldn’t quite get his head around this object and had questions for days!
