Last night was the prize giving and design installation for both Avant Garde dress and Avant Garde object, sponsored by Pick n Pay and The Body Shop in partnership with vida e caffè and The Cape Town Fashion Council; hosted by Live Eco and vida e caffè at vida’s Wembley Square store.
We had a full house and must say thanks to Boodles Gin SA who spoilt the crowd with delicious {proper british gin} G&T’s. After browsing the upcycled designs on display the winners were announced.
1st place: Marquin Sampson {CPUT}
Marquin receives a R10 000 bursary from CTFC towards his 2014 studies as well as becoming a vida e caffè ambassador for the next year, an internship with one of the Western Cape’s Top 3 designers and a hamper and gift card from The Body Shop worth R3 000.
1st runner up: Caela Viviers {CPUT}
Caela won a R1 000 gift card from The Body Shop and vida e caffè coffee vouchers.
2nd runner up: Zandalee Broodryk {CTCFD}
Zandalee won a R500 gift card from The Body Shop and vida e caffè coffee vouchers.
Special mention also went to Fedisa’s Robyn Keyser for her moss dress. All 4 designs will be on display at Design Indaba 2014.
Congratulations again to all involved and a massive thanks to our sponsors and partners for making this sustainable design competition possible. Avant Garde 2014 #WDC547 #WDC2014 … Watch this space!
