The Body Shop has released a couple new special editions just in time for those long, luxurious winter baths!
The Body Shop special edition ranges include Blueberry, English Dawn White Gardenia, Vineyard Peach and Early-Harvest Raspberry.
The heart inside
The special edition Blueberry range contains CFT {Community Fair Trade}Shea Butter and Cocoa Butter from Ghana. Shea forms a barrier on the skin, protecting it and locking in moisture, whilst Cocoa softens and smoothes the skin.
The English Dawn White Gardenia Eau De Toilette and frangrance mist contain 100% organic Community Fair Trade alcohol from Ecuador – an industry first as organic fairly traded alcohol has not been used in a fragrance before. With an organic production, the biodiversity of the community’s farmland is protected as well as Ecuador’s natural ecological diversoty, avoiding the growth monoculture farms and “slash and burn” techniques used to clear land for crops.
The Vineyard Peach range contains 9 different Community Fair Trade ingredients, sourced from around the world.
Never underestimate the power of butter
CFT shea butter, which is used across the body butter range, comes from The Tungteiya Women’s Shea Butter Association in Ghana. This partnership positively impacts 46,000 people living in communities where Tungteiya operates. Trade with The Body Shop has helped Tungteiya to complete a number of community projects, including building 6 schools, rehabilitating 1 school, providing 3 more teaching quarters, building 1 medical centre and 4 nutritional centres as well as providing sanitation to 11 villages with water pipes and wells.
