Upcycling must be good business for Topshop. The British high-street retailer is launching its third “Reclaim to Wear” capsule collection, derived from production offcuts and surplus stock from previous seasons.

The “Reclaim to Wear” range comprises of strappy dresses, camisoles, and culottes in dainty, floral prints, as well as distressed denim jeans, skirts, and jackets, the line breathes new life into formerly landfill-bound textiles.

Orsola de Castro and Filippo Ricci, founders of the label From Somewhere and co-curators of London Fashion Week’s Estethica showcase, launched Reclaim to Wear in 1997 as a design-forward solution to the challenge of textile waste.

“We have been really proud to work with the Topshop team on the Reclaim To Wear collections, inspiring them to include upcycling as part of their practice,” she’s said previously. “This is really an important step: one dress at a time, starting small, we are beginning to see that design can influence not just our style, but the way we think about clothes.”
