This year’s winter fashion trend is all about layering, wrapping yourself into a cocoon. Capes, fur, wrap-around sweaters are the must-have items, giving you a chance to rock the 60’s glam look in 2015. Live Eco has round up the latest styles and looks for this winter so that you can keep warm and look great:
Short skirt, long jacket
Mini-skirts are on all the runways this season. Instead of a tight-fitting mini-skirt, invest in a few baby doll style or skater style skirts. Wear these with long boots and tights. You can also upcycle your summer skirts for this look, making it a sustainable alternative as opposed to buying the latest fashion.
Full wool outfits
Prominent designers such as Marc Jacobs and Stella McCartney were showing off full wool outfits in their winter clothing lines. Not only do these look cosy, but it also looks soft and natural. Earthy colours like beige, brown and olive work well for this look.
Beanies, boots and plaid
The easiest and most sustainable way to achieve the bundled up look is to cleverly match your existing winter items with the latest fashion. At Sundance festival, celebrities like Lena Dunham and Zoe Kravitz were all sporting caps, scarves and sweaters on top of warm-looking jerseys, jeans and boots. Take a look at Elle’s gallery of celebrity styles at the Sundance event.
Oversized sweaters and leather pants
The must-have outfit for winter 2015 is black leather pants (opt for fake leather for a more environmentally-conscious alternative), knock-out heels and an oversized sweater. Wear a collar shirt underneath for a more preppy look.
