Luminous is the New Tan!

Luminous is the New Tan!
We usually hear of how sunburns are dangerous as the UV exposure that has caused them has damaged our skin cells. But what about tans?

You’re showing more of your skin during summer and you want it to be gorgeous and healthy. You might think the answer to that is getting a tan. If you’ve ever been pale, you’ve likely been told that you need to get some sun to look healthy. But tanning is actually not good for you.

Stay Cool and Out of the Sun

We usually hear of how sunburns are dangerous as the UV exposure that has caused them has damaged our skin cells. But what about tans? If you think that your skin is healthier because your tan is glowing and brown, and you’ve applied SPF, guess again.  According to the FDA, there’s no such thing as a safe tan. UV exposure accelerates the skin’s production of melanin, but interestingly this is the skin’s attempt at protecting itself against the harmful rays. However, a tan isn’t going to protect your skin from sunburns or any other damage – you’re still at risk of broken blood vessels, pigmentation, and loss of collagen that speeds up the ageing process.

Get Brighter Skin – Naturally!

The above reasons should keep you out of the sun, but sometimes the reason why you might want a tan is to cover up any imperfections on your skin. These could include a bit of redness, pimples, freckles, and so on. The better alternative to getting a tan, however, is to let your natural skin be on show – but the trick is to keep it looking healthy and radiant.

Here’s Your ‘Get Luminous Skin’ Plan:

1. Use Natural Moisturisers

Instead of using chemical products that can irritate your skin, cause acne, and result in other health problems, you should opt for more natural moisturisers. An example is organic shea butter. It’s luxurious, leaves your skin with radiance and makes it silky soft.

2. Exfoliate!

Exfoliating once or twice a week is a must to give your skin a natural glow. You’ll see the results immediately: your skin will be smoother, which makes it easier to reflect light.

Any pigmentation that has accumulated in the surface skin (from previous UV exposure) will also be sloughed away. Remember to finish off an exfoliating session with a moisturiser to seal in the luminosity.

3. Slather on the Organic Tanning Oil

Although bottle tans can also be bad for you because they’re filled with chemicals, there are organic oils that are easy to use and will give you extra radiance. Think of it as a way to make your natural skin tone brighter and more beautiful, and it’s healthier because you’re staying out of the sun. Choose an organic oil, such as Tan Organic that is gentle, provides a streak-free result, and most importantly hydrates your skin so that it can glow.

4. Nourish Your Body with Oils

Natural oils can be a great alternative to moisturiser because they give your skin a boost of lipids it needs to look smooth and achieve its natural glow.  Use coconut oil or avocado oil regularly for a luxurious treatment that will make you love the skin you were born with.

Healthy skin that hasn’t been damaged by the sun is the most gorgeous one to have! Follow the above tips to get sexy, luminous skin this summer.
