Honeymania, The Body Shop’s latest fairtrade beauty range, launched this month and is made with fairtrade honey sourced from Ethiopian beekeepers, keeping in line with the company’s core value of “Beauty with Heart“.
The Body Shop works with Beza Mar, experts in Ethiopian honey, who are dedicated to improving the livelihoods of their beekeepers. Sweet… We thought so! The Body Shop’s trade with these Ethiopian beekeepers has helped provide them with a reliable income which allows them to send their children to school, enhance their diet, pay for health care and improve their houses. This honey trade with The Body Shop also helps support the sustainable use of the rainforests by the locals in Ethiopia and provides incentive for the local community to preserve the rainforests instead of clearing the land for agriculture.
The Honeymania range is ultra nourishing and smells delicious, consisting of a shower gel, lip balm, bubble bath melt {which has been dubbed a honeypot of richness, I can’t wait to try it}, body butter and a body scrub. The range is available in stores from September.
