Ethical Luxury now in Jozi

Ethical beauty in Johannesburg has been given a boost with the opening of the flagship Africology urban retail and spa store, in Rosebank.

The brand is known for its ethically luxurious spa products and treatments, and is the creation of Renchia Droganis, who established the company in 2000. The product line evolved after Droganis, with her passion for the healing essence of plant life and the restorative power of essential oils, was convinced to go commercial with the products she formulated for people who she treated, and did readings for.

The store in Johannesburg now brings the Africology experience to a wider group of people, as they can purchase Africology products in the beautifully scented store, and experience the Africology treatments, from a rejuvenating full‐body massage to a relaxing manicure in the tranquil treatment rooms.

Africology products are currently available at some of the most luxurious spas in South Africa, including Ulusaba Resort in the Mpumalanga province and the Oberoi hotel in Mauritius, and are designed to balance body and mind naturally.

The products are made with local African ingredients like aloe vera, rooibos, African potato, and marula oil.

Africology is anti‐animal testing and uses organic and local ingredients wherever possible. The brand ardently supports fair trade and sustainable ingredients. The new Urban Africology retail & spa Store helps to drive general brand awareness.

The new Africology chapter is the brainchild of Eliana and Liza Droganis, who have been involved in the Africology business ever since it was founded by their mother, Renchia.

The time is right for the next blossoming, and it is with excitement that I hand the reins of the urban Africology retail & spa concept to my daughters. I am convinced their dedication, vision and passion will turn the store into a huge success,” she said at the launch.

Renchia is the best advert for her products, she looks gorgeous and healthy, and was clearly beaming with pride for her daughters, who she said grew up on lunchboxes that always smelled of essential oils.

The Africology goal is to empower people through the ideals and knowledge inherent in Africa’s traditions and history. The brand educates consumers, uplifts rural African communities, and calls for unconditional respect for the planet that so generously sustains us.

Africology believes that change starts with the consciousness of one person, and that through education and example, we can be a part of the change that the world so desperately needs.

The Africology is situated at shop G18, in the newly opened second phase of The Zone in Rosebank, just off Oxford road.
