Angela Lindvall – The Ultimate Eco-Model

Angela Lindvall wants to save the world, one green action at a time.

If there’s one model that’s all about the green movement, it’s Angela Lindvall. She has been an environmental activist for years and promotes a sustainable way of life. She serves as the founder and president of the Collage Foundation to show youth that they have the power to change the world, is an ambassador for the Sustainable Style Foundation, lived in a tugboat—called Lakota—that she refurbished to ensure it was full of sustainable products, and also serves as a style expert for Alter Eco on the Planet Green network.

Consuming less—and consuming responsibly—is where our power for change lies. With decisions as simple as turning off our irrigation, not using chemicals, making long-term investments on products that last, using sustainable building materials, buying vintage, composting, supporting local organic agriculture, and getting involved in our communities—these are all things we can do. Look at what we eat, where it comes from, the integrity behind it. Don´t compromise when it comes to our food. Stop supporting synthetic foods and materials. It is that simple, ” said Lindvall in an interview with ELLE magazine earlier this year.

Many people ask me, “Are you ‘green’? Eco-friendly?” But some still wonder what those words even mean. To most, they evoke a vision of a granola-loving tree-hugging hippie. This unfortunate misconception has created a divide. Personally, I dislike those labels; to me these words imply some sort of trend or stereotype, like stain-washed jeans or pantsuits for women. I believe being ‘green’ or ‘eco-friendly’ is simply a matter of being aware and recognizing our relationship to our environment.

Whether we consciously believe it or not, we are actually all “eco”. We are all of this earth and share the same relationship with it. We cannot disregard the symbiotic relationship we have with nature, or the dependence we have on this beautiful, diverse ecosystem.”

Smart and beautiful, we love it! Angela is also currently the face of DKNY´s new fragrance, pureDKNY. The fragrances main ingredient is vanilla sourced from Ugandan farmers, most of whom are women. PureDKNY is now partnering with CARE, a leading humanitarian organisation that fights global poverty, to help these women farmers, who play an integral role in creating the fragrance.

Other eco supermodels include Gisele Bündchen and Summer Rayne Oakes.
