It’s no secret that Lauren Conrad loves fashion. Well, now she is showing her passion for fashion and the environment through her new eco-friendly line called XO(eco).
The reality starlet and fashionista recently launched a new line with help from BlueAvocado, which offers eco-products for women on the go, and Repreve, a recyclable material company. The XO(eco) line provides “sustainable lifestyle products for travel, beauty and shopping.”
“We wanted to create an eco-collection of functional, really cute products so that people can be doing a good thing, but also look good while they’re doing it,” Conrad expresses. “There’s so much buildup of garbage in our landfills and oceans and it’s compromising our environment, marine life and their habitats.”
Conrad’s collection is made from Repreve, a fiber product crafted from reclaimed, used plastic bottles that are recycled into yarn and then made into items like XO(eco).
The very affordable eco-line offers a range of products like a beauty kit made from 6.5 recycled plastic bottles and a hot iron bag, for your hair straightener, made from three recycled plastic bottles. One of my favorite items from the collection is the XO(eco) shopper that is designed from seven recycled plastic bottles.
The collection was first announced in January and now it has come to life. “By using recycled materials by Repreve, I feel that the collection represents easy steps that we can all take where looking good and doing good are aligned,” she says.
