Ferretti said that Watson “had a Jane-Birkin-in-the-seventies image in mind,” when designing the eco-friendly line
Emma Watson recently inked a deal with Alberta Ferretti to design a collection for the fashion house, Pure Threads by Emma Watson.
The five-piece line will feature eco-friendly pieces crafted from such green materials as cotton muslin and hemp, as reported by InStyle.
Part of the proceeds will be donated to People Tree, an organization that aims to create organic, fair trade clothing, while improving the lives of the artisans and farmers who produce the pieces.
“I believe this is a big step forward for all of the international fashion industry,” said the Harry Potter star. “[It’s] an important step for an increased sensitivity to the problem of ecology.”
