Eco-friendly Accessories from Ketzali

eco-friendly accessories ketzali

Ketzali is an eco-friendly accessories line created by Guatemalan designer and Central Saint Martins alum Maya Colop-Morales. Ketzali produces hand woven scarves and ponchos using traditional Latin American skills.

Ketzali’s mission is to work hand-in-hand with artisans from Guatemala in order to increase their income, work environment and living standards. Practicing fair trade, the hand-woven scarves are made in old style looms with bio-degradable viscose, alpaca and cashmere yarns. The threads have been colored with natural dyes such as cochineal, walnuts hulls, dahlias, blackberries, indigo, and chamomile. These dyes contain no toxic substances, creating less water waste and and having a lower impact on the environment.

Celebrity fans of these eco-friendly accessories include Anne Hathaway, Natalie Portman and Camilla Belle.
